About AutoPASS for ferry

What is AutoPASS for ferry?

The payment solution “AutoPASS for ferry” will replace the old solution with discount cards and frequent user cards, and is a nationwide agreement (with some exceptions, see page Ferry connections).

It will be a transitional period where you can still use old discount cards and frequent user cards for some time into 2019. Read more about this on FAQ -> “What do I do with my old ferry card?”

How does it work?

To get the maximum discount, you have to register for an AutoPASS for ferry-agreement, where you pay in advance. An advance-pay agreement will provide a 50% discount for private customers and a 40% discount for corporate customers (17% discount on passenger tickets in ferry connections where there is passenger payment).

On the ferries you will now be charged either on your AutoPASS tag or your new AutoPASS ferry card, and the charge will be deducted from the advance payment on your AutoPASS for ferry account.

To pay the set prepaid amount, you can use the following methods:

  • Invoice by mail
  • Invoice by e-mail
  • Invoice by EHF (companies only)

On My page you can supervise your travels, remaining balance and invoices.

For more information on how the solution works, please see our page for frequently asked questions.

How can I get an AutoPASS tag?

If you already have an AutoPASS tag from a tag provider, i.e. Trøndelag Bomveiselskap or Bomringen i Bergen, this is the one you should use. When you enter your license plate number when registering for an agreement, the system will automatically find the tag number for you.

If you do not have an AutoPASS tag, you must order one from a tag provider. For an overview of tag providers where you can order your tag, please see www.autopass.no.

All tags in the EasyGO-partnership (i.e. BroBizz) are also eligible for use, but will incur an annual fee of NOK 60 per tag. This will be deducted from your AutoPASS ferry account.

How do I get an AutoPASS ferry card?

Upon registering your agreement you can attach your AutoPASS tag or EasyGO tag to the vehicle. This will happen automatically if the system finds a tag number when you enter your vehicle registration number.

Upon registration you will have a choice to order an an AutoPASS ferry card for each vehicle. If the vehicle will only be using ferry operators with tag payment, you can choose not to order it. Please note that wothout the card you will not receive the discount on ferry connections which uses tag payment. For information on which payment method the ferry connections use, pease see the page Ferry connections.

An AutoPASS ferry card costs NOK 50 per card, which will be deducted from your AutoPASS ferry account.

You need one AutoPASS ferry card per vehicle.
